Embracing A Transformational Journey from Weakness to Strength

Every one of us has faced weakness in at least one area of our lives. God promises to be our strength in the midst of whatever weakness we face. Our frailties don’t have to stop us from going to where God wants to take us. Through these times, we must choose to embrace the divine strength that has been provided for us.

Ranae Kai, a Bermudian author, and coach shares with us her transformational journey from weakness to strength. Take a peek into this journey in the interview below.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and your endeavors.

A: Ranae Kai’s passion is coaching others to experience optimal health in their daily lives, focusing on peace and strength. She leads with an approach of looking good, and feeling better. She also values wholeness and offers specialized programs and services to obtain a fit mind, fit body(internal and external), and fit soul.

Ranae Kai is a new author. Her book Jewel: Restoring Hidden Treasures Through Christ was written to empower women while in their single season and desiring sexual purity. An aha moment was when she realized she had been sexually abstinent for 6 years, since having sex for 10 years. God soon confirmed to share this story with the world. She shares her transformational journey from sin(weakness) to strength.

Upon writing Jewel by God’s amazing grace, Ranae Kai has also created a Sexual Purity 101 Program. Ranae Kai also offers 60 minute purity consults that encourage women to be bold in their faith and confident in their qualities.

Q: What inspires you to write and create?

A: God. I have learned to be a faithful and obedient child of God; life is beautiful this way.

Q: When did you first start writing? How old were you? How long have you been writing?

A: Truthfully, I have always written well when tasked with various assignments. Writing has been a natural way of expression for me. My visions and imaginations are vivid, therefore writing has been an enjoyable way to steward thoughts. Storytelling has been a great value to me, whether learning from someone or sharing through conversation.

Though in becoming an author, Jewel was the first time I started writing an actual book. And two months and two days later, by God’s grace, the manuscript for Jewel was complete.

I am naturally creative and am excited to continue to build God’s kingdom in this special way, inspiring other souls through my testimonials and revelations.

Q: What is your favorite bible verse or inspirational quote? Why?

A: I actually love the entire bible. However, I share this scripture as I believe it expresses God’s will for our lives perfectly. 3 John 1:2 : “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Q: Has there ever been a time where you felt you had writer’s block? Explain.

A: No. Writing Jewel was a beautiful experience. I encountered God on many levels as I downloaded His direction and enjoyed listening to praise and worship music while completing His assignment.

Q: If you could meet with anyone influential for 10 mins who would that be?

A: First Lady Leslie Osei. Although by God’s amazing grace I had the opportunity to meet with her in December 2020 and experience Kingdom Full Tabernacle International Ministries(KFT), I would love another moment of 10 mins to thank her for her life changing leadership.

Tiphani Montgomery is also a wonderful woman of God and although we briefly met online at her Millions 2020 Virtual Conference, I look forward to meeting her in person in the near , near future at a Covered by God ministry meeting.

Q: What do you want your readers gain from your writing?

A: I want readers to be empowered to live a pure(purer) lifestyle – spiritually, sexually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. I desire readers to understand that they too can prosper and obtain pure health as they acknowledge their value in Christ, and follow God’s lead to fulfill their glorious destiny.

I have been sexually abstinent for 7 years, while delivered and restored favorably, so readers also should know that with God all things are possible no matter what.

Q: Have you ever gone through a very challenging and/or difficult situation that tested your faith greatly? Explain.

A: Yes and no while writing Jewel. I had no interest in ever sharing this testimony, nor writing a book to share it. The thought was challenging for a split second. Although, only because one, I didn’t understand the value of testifying prior to ongoing revelations at this time or two and I couldn’t process me having to sit for a period to type at a computer.

However, within days, I smiled, surrendered, and glorified God for desiring to use me in such a way. I truly believe that with God all things are possible.

God is too faithful. Often there are moments that He stretches my faith and always shows Himself great. #ElShaddai

Q: How have you overcome your challenges and difficulties?

A: Warfare prayers. Since encountering God on newer levels, and experiencing deliverance through KFT, I have gained revelation of the power in prayer. There is no challenge too big for God. With great obedience and surrender, I trust to conquer all challenges and difficulties by His mighty grace. God is my comforter(protector), redeemer(provider), deliverer, CEO, friend, restorer and strategist. While gaining revelation of His lionic nature. I rely on His Holy Spirit for all things.

Q: If you could encourage an upcoming creative or an aspiring writer, what would you tell them?

A: I would encourage them with a word God recently shared with me: worry about who He is not what you see. And in other words, fear God, not men. And in other words choose faith, not fear. With this being said, obey God with a pure heart in all humility. Be Godfident in the talents He has gifted you with, for He who began a good work in you, will bring it to fruition.

God is glorious in all His ways, and not by power, not by might, but by His Holy Spirit. We are graced to fulfill the desirable calling He has for us. Trust that as you seek first His Kingdom and righteousness all things will be added unto you, and His peace that vssurpasses all understanding will forever remain with you. Amen.

A Missionary’s Dream Comes True

Pastor Jan Michael Prieto sensed the calling for missions after a dream that showed him his future. During his teen years at the age of 16, he knew it was God calling him to be a pastor and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “The preparation for becoming a pastor and missionary came through a dream. The man in the dream told me I would preach God’s word. There were times the Lord would always communicate with me in these dreams for a specific task. This gave me the urge to advance His Kingdom.”

Just at 17 years of age, the missionary pastor began preaching in 2007. Raised in a Catholic background, the minister had an experience that gave him a yearning for the things of the Lord and to learn of Him. He said, “During my high -school days, one pastor shared the gospel message and I received this message. On this particular day, I started listening to God’s word and studying God’s word.”

Pastor Prieto was inspired to activate the call to be a pastor when he began having a burden for lost souls and a desire to help them have a spiritual understanding. Along with sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he wanted to assist others materially and financially. In 2013, Jan Michael started Christian Church Mission in the Philippians under a tree and from there on the pastor impacted more lives.

All ministries face challenges at some point during their journeys. “The challenges that I had on the mission field were the risk of attacks from people who were against the word of God, having finances for the mission for travel expense and food, the risk of terrorist attacks and snakes in the jungle. The lowest point of our ministry was when we were hit by an earthquake and typhoon last year.”

There were times of discouragement that Pastor Jan Michael experienced. God’s presence and constant reminder of His call helped him to continue on. “Yes, there were times that I was discouraged. I overcame those times, through the presence of God, the burden and His word that always reminded me to advance and not be dismayed.”

The favorite scriptures of the missionary, are Matthew 11:28 and Mark 11:24. “In the mission, I enjoy when the villagers receive and offer some native snacks to us.” Every aspiring and emerging missionary or pastor needs encouragement in times of difficulties and obstacles. He said, “I encourage them not to give up no matter what. I don’t know them and I don’t know what situations they are facing, but God is faithful in His promises. We faced a lot because we gave up everything for the gospel, but God used anyone and anything to accomplish His task to us.”

Christian Church Mission supplies bibles to persons in their native language, rice to feed those without and clothes to those who are struggling. Pastor Jan Michael holds crusades, bible studies and works with other churches. Donations and gifts are accepted for Christian Church Mission and/or Pastor Jan Michael and his family through sending on PayPal at Janmichaelprieto@yahoo.com.

Beauty Care Matters: Q & A with Myshel Wilkins

Do you know what’s in your skincare products? Studies have shown that many health challenges and illnesses have a connection to lifestyle practices and habits.

The chemicals that are found in various products have been known to affect the hormones, ph levels, mental functioning, and more.

I had the opportunity to interview Beautycounter consultant Myshel Wilkins on the healthcare side of beauty. Below is our interview.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A: I was born and raised in Kentucky to a missionary father and Ghanaian mother. The oldest of three! I have always had a passion to help people. I believe it came from traveling with my dad on mission trips and wanting so badly to meet the need of those who needed anything from education to food and water. I do several different things but all to help, encourage, and inspire others. I am a singer and songwriter who has toured all around the US with several Grammy award-winning artists. I have my own health and beauty business called Beautycounter. In my business, I educate, advocate, and provide safe and clean beauty products. And lastly,  I am the director of an outreach for a nonprofit missions organization that lovingly serves the beautiful people of Uganda. We help our partners rescue young girls from prostitution, bring doctors with us to treat many in various villages and hold discipleship training classes at several churches, among meeting many other needs.

Q: How did you begin as a beauty consultant?

A: A great influencer and successful broker in my community reached out to me and invited me to learn more about this new business she had started. At first, I thought it was just another beauty MLM company and I had no passion or desire to sell beauty products. But upon hearing more about their mission, how they educate women and empower them with potentially life-saving knowledge and advocate in Washington DC meeting with Congressmen and women to push to change the laws that govern the beauty industry, I knew this was a very different company and that they were not just about beauty, this was a ground-breaking movement that I wanted to be a part of. Especially after just losing a friend to breast cancer at the age of 39. I joined and haven’t looked back!

Q: What inspired you to become a beauty consultant?

A: I lost a friend to cancer and it shook me! Seeing someone close to my age pass away moved me to do more research about cancer and the ways one can get it! I wanted to safeguard myself and my loved ones. In my studies, I found some very alarming information about the beauty industry and how there are many chemicals used in our products to create a smooth texture, extend the shelf life, and prolong the fragrance. These are the same chemicals that can be harmful to the body when absorbed. Our skin is our largest organ and most people are unaware that most of what you put on your skin will be absorbed within 26 seconds. Many of the questionable ingredients in our make-up and personal care items can cause infertility, cancer, life-threatening allergies, hormonal imbalances, fibroids, birth defects among other complications. Even someone who is eating right and exercising can still fall ill because of the toxic products they use daily. This is a silent problem that Beautycounter is bringing to light. I love that they are not only providing safe, high performing products but are pressing for laws to be changed nationwide!  Did you know that the word “fragrance” that is listed on your products is linked to a “trade secret” in the industry? Companies can hide over 3000 ingredients behind the word “fragrance” and by law, they do not have to disclose what those ingredients are! Did you know that in the EU, they have banned over 1400 ingredients stating that it is illegal to put those specific ingredients in products due to the serious health hazard it can cause? Yet in the United States, they have only banned 30 ingredients. Beautycounter refuses to put over 1800 questionable ingredients in our products and we hide no secrets within our makeup, skincare and body products! Most people don’t know these facts and assume that the products they use have been tested for safety before putting it on the market and that is simply not true! This also goes for products marketed for children and babies. This is NOT ok!!! It is now one of my passions to educate and hopefully change the buying culture of one family at a time.

Q: How long have you been in this industry/business?

A: I’ve been with Beautycounter for 5 years.

Q: What is your career and educational background?

A: I have a BS from Tennessee State University! I studied history and political science. It’s pretty awesome how my beauty business has to lead me to face our government on the state and national level, to bring about change!

Q: What are the advantages of becoming a Beauty Counter consultant?

A: Meeting such inspirational women from all walks of life. Many of our consultants are cancer survivors and have made it their mission to educate their communities about using safer products. I get to be a part of a beautiful moment that will positively affect upcoming generations. I can make as much money as I want. Don’t get me wrong. You have to work hard to build your business but it is very rewarding. There are women who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in this business. I know women who make 10- 20 thousand a MONTH! This is a new company so getting in on the ground level has great advantages! It’s on-trend! Women want to feel and look beautiful but don’t want to potentially risk their health to do so. The beauty industry is changing and more women are asking questions about what’s in their products. Beautycounter is ahead of the game and is thriving because of it!

Q: What type of skills are needed to become a beauty consultant?

A: No skill is needed other than being willing to learn and have a passion to want to help people.  I’ve seen all types of women succeed in this business. The Ivy league Dr. to the stay at home mom. All are brilliant and all build their business to fit their lives!

Q: How does the social, economic, environmental and political sectors impact your industry/business?

A: Here are a few of our partners :

Breast Cancer Prevention Partners work to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease. Why we love them: Breast Cancer Prevention Partners are a founding member and national coordinator of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a coalition working to eliminate dangerous chemicals from cosmetics and personal care products.

Healthy Child Healthy World empowers parents and caregivers to protect children from harmful chemicals.  Why we love them: Their easy actions and tips help families create safer environments for children to flourish.

Environmental Working Group (EWG) uses the power of research and information to protect public health and the environment. Why we love them: Their Skin Deep Cosmetics Database allows you to search over 73,000 products for hazardous ingredients.

Beautycounter believes that people should never be asked to compromise their health for beauty. Our mission: To educate families about the need for safer chemicals and products, and to work to be a part of the solution by creating safe and effective skin care and beauty products. We also provide an economic opportunity for women who join us as Independent Sales Consultants. A strong commitment to health & safety is our company’s foundation. We have what we believe is the most health-protective ingredient selection process in the industry. We tell you everything that is in our timeless and accessible products—no hidden fragrances, preservatives, or other secrets—and every ingredient has a purpose.

Environmental Commitment: Beautycounter was founded by a team of social entrepreneurs who take into account society, environment, and profits when we make business decisions. We know that there is a lot that needs fixing in the world, and we will use the power of business and strategic partnerships to get moving in the right direction. We are committed to product performance, safety, and accessibility above all. We have a robust list of chemical ingredients that we will never use in our products, and we screen each ingredient for potential long-term health impacts before we approve it for use. We endeavor to source natural and organic ingredients when possible, and when our safety, accessibility and performance goals are not compromised by doing so.  Some of our products contain only natural ingredients, and others have a mix of lab-made and natural ingredients, all of which have passed our stringent safety screen. Nothing in our products are harmful to the human body. PERIOD!! We are a certified Benefit Corporation, which means we put people and the planet BEFORE profit!  We team up with other forward-thinking business to share resources and brainstorm solutions, and we do not test our cosmetics on animals. We make every effort to use post consumer recycled content in both paper and plastic materials, and source plastics that are recyclable in most communities. We do not use the types of plastic that are most likely to leach toxic chemicals (polycarbonate plastic can leach BPA, PVC can leach phthalates, and polystyrene never biodegrades, so we avoid all three of those materials).  We use glass bottles for some of our products, and will look into expanding our use of glass over time, though glass can be expensive/ and carbon-intensive to ship and requires more secondary packaging to protect it. We have made efforts to reduce the use of secondary packaging (outer boxes for bottles), and use FSC-certified paper for all packaging.“In order to be successful in business and in our social mission, we have to reject the short-term thinking that got all of us into the current environmental crisis. Beautycounter recognizes that we can’t do it alone—strategic partnerships are absolutely necessary to create meaningful, lasting change. We’re proud to partner with Carbonfund.org to offset our carbon emissions, and for guidance on reducing our overall footprint.”

Q: What message do you want to share through Beautycounter?

A: Women have unknowingly had to choose between health and beauty. Beautycounter thinks that’s nonsense! We should be able to enjoy both! And we want future generations to enjoy laws that will protect them from the self – regulated companies who have no accountability when making a product with only $$$ in mind. I won’t be anyone’s guinea pig, I’m going to be intentional about my health, invest in the future me, protect my family, educate my community and impact the nation with new laws. This is a super empowering company!!!

Q: How does clean beauty affect/ better the environment?

A:  It keeps us all healthier! The air, animals, water sources, and humanity. We are about being responsible and caring for every aspect of life.

Q: How does clean beauty improve the health and lifestyle of others?

A:  We all have a God-given purpose to fulfill in this earth. Who wants to be so focused on their health issues and inability to live life to the fullest because we are worried about doctor bills and other health-related stressors.  I want us all to live life abundantly focused on fulfilling our call without the distractions that we can defeat by making the necessary changes that will improve the quality of our lives! Our health is our greatest asset. Let’s invest in it and do our best to help others do the same.

Q:  Where do you see your industry/business in the next year, five years or ten years?

A: Leading the beauty industry as the #1 health-focused beauty company that is making a great impact on our nation and the laws that govern the safety of our products. Beautycounter is projected to be a BILLION dollar company in the next 3 years! I will definitely get my share of that as I build my business and prepare to launch out to start other business ventures in the future. Beautycounter will be the foundation upon which I’m able to build other projects and fulfill other visions I have in my heart.  🙂

Q: What advice and encouragement would you give someone who is starting a clean beauty journey?

A: First of all, I’m proud of you! It’s a big deal to be one of the first in your family to start a new mindset and buying culture in your generation. I used to get tons of jokes hurled at me in the beginning. Everyone won’t understand, but over time, my family has seen the importance of what I’m doing and what I’ve shared with them over the years. Many are now using safer products and I’m so so happy about it!!! Link up with other people with the same interest! It’s always good to connect with like-minded, health-conscious people. They will keep you accountable and inspire you as you learn together.

Q: What is your encouragement to aspiring beauty consultants?

A: No matter where you are I’d love to help educate, train, and help you build your business! I love mentoring new beauty consultants that join my team. If you want to make an impact while building a meaningful business, I’d love to connect with you! Especially women of color because the products that are marketed to women of color are the most toxically loaded products on the market! They are cheaply made with cheap ingredients which usually means it’s not safe to use. Our communities are the last to know about the harm that can come from using toxic chemicals daily! I love to educate ALL women, but definitely want to educate the community who is clueless about the level of toxicity they are exposed to each day!

Q:  Any other related information, website/page links, and recordings?

A: Yes. Here are the links to more amazing work that Beautycounter is doing to bring transparency to the dark secrets of the beauty industry.

What does a world of social justice look like?

Have you ever felt that you were unfairly denied of something that others were freely given? The sting of discrimination is felt by many. In a world where everyone desires to be treated fairly and rightfully, there are both cracks and leaks of equality and justice. Along with these cracks and leaks are the extremes and unrealistic expectations of what social justice should look like. How do we know the difference between the realistic and unrealistic demands of equality? What are the margins between the cracks and the extremes?

In a thought – provoking poem titled “My Bermuda”, Johnita Simons tells us what an island of Bermuda used to look like and the importance of social justice. Ms. Simons said, “It’s about social injustice. This is about Bermudians coming together as one and supporting each other. We don’t do that anymore. It’s almost like we don’t care about anyone but ourselves. That’s not how it was when I was coming up. I remember as a child when hurricane Emily struck. People were helping each other to rebuild their lives. Checking on each other to make sure that everything was okay. And then Fabian hit. There was a sense of togetherness. We don’t look out for each other anymore.  We have that not my monkeys, not my circus mentality. What we fail to realize is that we are all Bermudians and we are all one family. We shouldn’t fight and kill each other. That’s your brother and that’s your sister.”

Johnita Simons has always enjoyed writing poems and short stories from her childhood years. The poet said, “It’s my escape. This is my way of expressing how I’m feeling. ”

Through encouragement Johnita Simons soon realized that she wanted to become a writer. She said, ” It was my godmother that first said it. She asked me to write a poem for her. This was when I first wrote ‘My Bermuda’. Also, my family members are encouraging me as well.”

Tell us below in the comments what social justice would look like in the community you live in. What would be needed for people to unite together and truly look out for each other in a struggling society?

Prayer Points: Raising A Praise

When I see the word praise, I see the word raise. Which means there is something that has to be activated to fill the atmosphere.

I also think of praise as a way of expression in celebrating something of importance.

Another part of praying is raising a praise unto to the Lord.

Prayer Focus: ” For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.” – Matthew 6: 13

There are different ways to praise God, but they all point to giving Him the glory.

TODAH: Extending hands giving thanksgiving.

BARAK: Blessing and declaring God as the one with all power. To be before the Lord in stillness.

YADAH: Extending hands to worship to God in complete surrender. Enjoying the prescence of the Lord.

SHABACH: To shout unto God. Literally commending yourself to praise God.

ZAMAR: Striking the stringed instrument and singing melodies unto the Lord.

HALLAL: Celebrating in excitment with complete joy.

TEHILLAH: Singing within the Spirit.

When we praise we are acknowleging God and His Sourveignty. God commands us to give Him praise always. Starting and ending our prayers with praise keeps our focus on Christ and who He is to us. Abba Father deserves more than what we could ever give Him, but with what we have to give Him, we must offer it up to Him with respect and honor.

Counted In

Life can sometimes seem harsh. Many feel forgotten, forsaken and abused. A weight of rejection and uncertainty can leave some making choices to either run away from process or take the matters of process in their own hands and under their own control.

Hagar from biblical times was a slave servant who was brought in the midst of a foreign culture and people. She was forced into circumstances beyond her control.

Sarai her mistress was in waiting for a promise from God to be fulfilled in her and her husband’s life. What do you do when you have a promise from God and waiting becomes difficult? How do you handle life when waiting starts to feel like God has forgotten you and what if you wait any longer and it doesn’t happen?

Anxious Sarai takes the matters into her own hands and encourages her husband to go with her maid. In a moment of fear and insecurity we can make foolish choices that afterwards turns into a mess. Why would we take what God has given to us and put it with another and expect them to birth our promise?

Grace is patient enough to allow the mess to happen, but not to throw away the promise.

Hagar the maid began to receive harsh treatment and decided to run. What do you do when you experience harsh treatment or harsh circumstances for things that weren’t your doings, idea or plan? Runing to escape pain and suffering sometimes seems like the only way out of our condition when we feel like we are counted out.

There is a God who sees when we are deeply hurt from harsh treatment. He shows up that we may encounter Him as ‘The God who sees’.  What do you do when the God who sees sends you back to a place of pain, harsh treatment and rejection and tells you to submit? That is often is where many will feel counted out and forsaken and say,  ‘God if you are really got me in this why would you allow me to suffer like this?’

Why would you allow me to eventually be casted out when I do go back to submit and left no choice but to endure the wilderness? In the wilderness lack seems to hit you in the face. Lack of resources, support and intimate meangingful relationships. Many begin to see and hear death and think that nothing will get better. I believe it’s in those places where we may be casted out that God has a special golden invitation for us to experience Him as the God who will always make a way even for those who are most rejected in society and those who appear to always struggle to suceed.

There are many who feel counted out through circumstances and situations. Feeling counted out in waiting or/and feeling counted out in experiencing rejection or being overlooked.

There are times when others both unitentionally and intentionally will count you out, but there is new life after every waiting process and there is provision for those casted out to be counted in.

You’re really counted in!  You will never be left out of God’s purpose and destiny for you when we allow all that He desires to be give us the warm embrace and minister to our hearts and souls and heal our lives.

Prayer Points: The Secret Place of Protection

Amongst all the pestilence and danger all around, there is a secret place. In this place, there is deliverance from the snare of the fowler (Psalm 91: 3). As believers, our faith prayers of declaring that God is our hiding place and security seals us under a protected dwelling place.

1) Making God our habitation.

God promises to deliver us when we make him our habitation and set our love upon Him. The secret place where we reside and dwell is where our praises flow unhinderedly. Our praises are where God will always be. God wants to be in the place of our living. He wants to fill up every space in our lives with His presence, power, and protection.

Hindrances to the Secret Place:

Drunkenness – When we are not sober, we are open to an excess of any evil. It gives Satan legal access to wreak havoc in our physical, mental, and spiritual well – being. Being filled with the Spirit is the solution to being set free from the snare of drunkenness whether physically, spiritually, or mentally.

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5: 18)

FEAR – There are many kinds of fears including phobias. I believe everyone at some point has been afraid. Believers holding a resistance to God in the way He wants to move upon them is often rooted in fear. Fear of what people may say, think, or act. Our freedom is more important than being understood, approved of, accepted, and treated well. A lack of trust in God in any area of our lives could be closely related to fear. How do we perceive God as our Heavenly Father? Do we see Him as a cruel master or the one out to punish us? Do we believe or act as if our imperfections make us unlovable and worthless? All these things can be blockages to deeper, higher, and wider in the Lord. There are divine encounters we have yet to experience. But we don’t have to feel condemned and inferior because of the fear. Just little by little allow God’s perfect love to strengthen us and wash away our fears.

2) Setting Our Love Upon the Lord

Where there is love there is no room for fear. Torment is not from God.   Even when a host may encamp around us, when we abide in setting our love upon God, our hearts don’t need to fear. When we love on the Lord, we remain in that secret place. When war rises up against us, we can have confidence through staying close to the Lord. Dwelling in God’s house, beholding His beauty, and inquiring in His temple are some of the ways we set our love upon God. This is done through faithfulness and seeking after Him.

As we trust that God will lift our head above our enemies, we can sing praises unto Him and offer sacrifices of joy. Anxious and troubled, many of us lack that ONE THING when we look in the spiritual mirror and see the reflection from pain and failure. If the truth be told many of us struggle with being consistent with that ONE THING that God is asking of us.

    3) Knowing God’s name

In the secret place of protection, we know that God is a strong tower and as the righteous that’s where we run and find safety (Proverbs 18:10). Knowing who God is and His ways gives Him access to be and do His will and plan in our lives as we embrace Him and receive from Him.

God shine your truth on us that we will learn to continually make you our habitation, set our love upon you, and know your name. Help us to stand with the armour of power and protection as we are shielded in your presence. May we continue to decree and declare your promises and trust that the work is already done and believing that they will manifest just like you said. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Prayer Points : Deliverance From Evil

Opression is all around in this world. Emotional , physical, financial and mental opression occur in the lives of many. In the Psalms David asks for deliverance from the opression of man. “Order my steps in thy word : and let not iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the opression of man : so I will keep thy precepts. “(Psalm 119:133 & 134) Throughout the psalms David asks for deliverance from his enemies and troubles.

We face enemies and troubles of all kinds in our lives and there is no better way than to call upon the Lord during these times.

The victory has already been won. Jesus won it through one death, burial and ressurrection! The blood covered it all!  Praise God! Putting on the whole armor of God prepares us to walk in the victory that has already been won for us.

When we are putting on the armor of the Lord we are putting on the Lord Jesus Christ like the word instructs us to. (Romans 13:12 & 14)  Below are some prayer points to consider as we put on the whole armor for spiritual battle.

1) Truth :  As we pray in spiritual warfare we must have our loins fasten with truth. Truth which is the Word of God must be within us so that the lies of the enemy don’t have root in our hearts which hinders the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

2) Righteousness : Our chest must be covered in righteousness. As we interceed we must be sober, walk in faith and love and apply the Word in our lifestyles.

3) Readiness: Our feet must have readiness and stability with the preparation of the gospel of peace so that we can stand firmly during testing and trouble. We won’t be moved in prayer and spiritual warfare when it gets difficult. God will give us hinds feet for high places.

4) Faith : We need to shield ourselves with faith against the fiery darts of the wicked. As we pray and war in the Spirit we need faith as our defense.

5) Salavation : Our head must be covered with Salvation. Helmets in the natural are made to protect the head from any danger or harm . So in the Spirit we need to wear our helmet of salvation in battle from danger and harm.

6) Word of God: We need our sword of the Spirit as our authority and power in intercession as we decree and declare.

The Battle Against Inferiority

When void meets insecurity a massive attack takes place. That void where it is empty, lonely and painful. The insecurity where you just seem to always be the one that struggles with things you think should be easy and there feels like so many things are wrong with you.

I can relate. When the two meet – void and insecurity you desire that longing, but you think you don’t have it in you to do well like a “normal” person or maybe after the mistakes you don’t desvere to have it.

You want to feel connected, but yet the whispers tell you you’re disconnected because of who you are and this is just how it is.

Void and insecurity sees all the difficulties and lack and deep down wonders if there is any real meaningful significance and value that they can share outwardly and embarace inwardly.

I can say I have truly been blessed and favored during this time in my life. But the truth is even those who are experiencing God’s blessing and favour don’t have it all perfectly worked out and always just finds themselves in a sweet and lovely place.

You can be greatly blessed  and favored yet go home for that void to scream at you “I’m still here.” Life has balance and will give a share of the pleasant and unpleasant. What will you do with it?  Favored of God yet wrestle with unwanted chaos, insecurities and issues that those who know you  may have no clue about it, but yet there is pressure to have everything in your life together and going wonderful. Life has contradictions and we don’t have to look very far, it shows up where we are.

If we were only real with what is going on. If we were ready to give this battle to the the Chief Commander to take charge… WOW I think there is no telling of how powerful this war would be won.

I am reflecting on the areas the inferiority likes to attack and in my reflection it seems to be places of identity, security and safety and areas of both weakness and strength. Below are some points to consider on the battle against inferiority.

1) God will reveal His special plans for you in the right season.

Just like God told Jeremiah before He  formed him He knew  him and before he was born He set him apart and appointed him as prophet to the nations, we can take in and digest that God already knew us, we are set apart and He is calling us to the nations even when there is a empty whole and a place we don’t feel like we are skillful and have mastered things.

 2) How we feel and what we see is not an accurate truth of who we are.

Whether is that you came from a family that had various struggles that always seem to put a mark of disgrace on your lives or you wasn’t an academic in school so you struggled with feeling less than and not embraced by your peers, the truth of who we are doesn’t begin or end with what we went through and what we presently go through.

3) God will always send the encouragement we need.

Like God encouraged Gideon, He will encourage you. God is not going to beat you up cause you are struggling with inferiority, He will like a Father comfort you and minister to you in what way best reaches you. If God is leading you to do something in your discouragement trust Him to encourage you as He leads and brings about the victory.

5 Lessons Through Summer

Sun, heat, water, outdoor beauty and cold treats all relate to what we identify as a part of summer. Throughout these summer weeks and months I have been taught some lessons in various ways and have learned some lessons. Below are some lessons to consider through summer.
1) Improve your health habits now while you’re still in young adulthood.

I have been told previously that I don’t need to be healthy while I’m young. The statement most likely came from a well meaning place, but wasn’t balanced advice.

This summer has moderately challenged me physically. As a younger adult I have seen the differences and results in the health choices I’ve made an effort toward. Our bodies, minds and souls need to be taken care of well and when we neglect them they will let us know.
2) Stop rushing through moments that are meant to be enjoyed.

It is ok to take your time to enjoy what’s happening around you.
3) Follow when God leads in places that are uncertain to us.

Even if God leads  you to something where as a result  a resource is drying up and you may have little to nothing, God’s guiding will never lead you off His path for you.
4) Be kind and merciful to yourself.

I can be a critic to myself and be harsh on me at times. This summer I practiced not beating up myself over mistakes and imperfections.
5) Embrace who you’re becoming.

This summer has challenged me to look past a lot of things and trust in God for who I’m becoming through Him.
What lessons have you been learning throughout summer?
