5 Ways to Reduce Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety can have an effect on anyone. It doesn’t matter how optimistic or well intention (these are great practices) we are, our bodies, minds and souls need attention, care  and renewal. Stress and anxiety at high levels interfere in all areas including relationships, performance/efficiency, health, energy/alertness and more.

When I’m at high levels of stress and/or anxiety, I find it difficult to cope and continue on. The wonderful news is that stress and anxiety can be reduced and relieved in how we live in our daily lifestyle.

1) Rest & Relax: When we are buzzing around as if we have a never-ending boost, we soon notice the oncoming burnout breaking through our way. Sometimes a simple lay down can work wonders. Burnout can be experienced at any age or life stage. When enough is enough is just that…. enough!

2) Feed Your Soul: Just like our natural bodies need to be fed to function properly, our souls need nourishment, substance and nurturing. What we feed our souls with matters 100%. The Word of God, devotionals, music, declarations, prayer, meditation and more are ways we can spiritually feed our souls.

3) Leave It Alone!: There are some things we just have to learn to leave alone. I find it difficult to do just that when I just care and think about so much. When we take on what God needs to take on and handle, we find ourselves weighted down. Let’s leave it to the Father.

4) Watch it!: The things we need to watch and look for are very important in our growth, development and stability. What are we putting in? What is coming out? If it doesn’t belong, we simply just need to be more careful and attentive.

5) Take Your Time!: My generation of young adults and the young children and teens behind us are used to quickness and speed. Things don’t just always come right away and they don’t just appear out of nowhere. All of us in any life stage needs to take our time in every way.

5 Lessons On Friendship

Friendship is a form of love, acceptance and unity that most want to experience. Having real, close and meaningful friendships has never been easy or smooth for me, but there have been some lessons that I have learned from friendship. Below are a few highlights to consider.

1) Friendships are not limited to human connections. They can be developed with an animal(pet) or even a passion for something that matters to you.

2) It takes time, patience and effort to build healthy, close and meaningful friendships.

3) Sometimes friendships can come in unexpected circumstances with unexpected people.

4) Not all friendships are meant to be close, but through them can come messages of hope.

5) Good quality and real friendships are not perfect, they just learn to grow beyond the surface.

5 Skin Care Reminders

Ever felt like there’s something missing from your skin health? Skin care is just as important as any other part of our health. All skin shades are beautiful and deserve the attention it needs. I’m no expert but here are some tip reminders on improving on taking care of our skin.

 

 

  • Drink More Water: I’m guilty! I don’t drink the amount of water as I should. There’s something about having a sweet tooth. Water is essential for healthy skin care. It leaves the skin looking clearer.

 

  • Keep it moisturized: Natural skin products like olive oil and more are available at various pharmacies and stores. When skin is moisturized it definitely looks and feels healthier.
  • Wear Sun Screen: During the summer and warmer months it gets hotter and our skin needs to be protected. A great way to protect the skin is by using a suitable sunscreen.
  • Include Vitamin D in Diet: Vitamin D is known to help the skin to be healthy.
  • Consuming Healthy Foods: Eating healthy foods is good for every part of our health including our skin. Fruits and vegetables are an important factor in consuming healthy foods.

There are a variety of gospel music styles. Styles like traditional, hip hop, dance – hall, reggae, jazz, country, R & B and more. The spiritual tunes leave you with many songs to choose from.  Gospel music has a great impact in the lives of people. It brings encouragement to many and ministers to them.

While taking a music class a few years ago, I learned that some of the hymns were used as codes by slaves. Gospel music continues to grow as new artists are rising bringing their gift to the stage. The lyrics in any genre play an important part in music. Uplifting music which many gospel songs are, can help a person on a bad day or in whatever they are going through.

Gospel music is about spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through music. This form of music is not only played in church and in people’s personal lives, but sometimes is played out in the community. Everyone has their preferences when it comes to music. Some don’t like some of the newer gospel music, but there are many who do. The growth of Gospel music is growing rapidly with new music coming out from generation to generation.
